About

I am a Data Scientist at The Hershey Company, where I work on assortment optimization for retail category planning. My work sits at the intersection of statistical inference and operations research: I build consumer choice models that capture how customers assemble individual shopping baskets, and pair them with tractable optimization procedures that turn those models into actionable assortment decisions.

I completed my Ph.D. in Statistics and Data Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin, advised by Catherine Calder, and was subsequently awarded an NSF Mathematical Sciences Postdoctoral Research Fellowship, which I held at Duke University from June 2025 to February 2026. My dissertation was a finalist for the 2025 ISBA Leonard J. Savage Award in the Applied Methodology category.

I am currently preparing applications for Assistant Professor positions. My research interests include spatial statistics for discrete data, identifiability and partial identifiability in latent-variable models, and adapting machine learning concepts to statistical inference, with applications spanning sociology, ecology, and the interface between statistical inference and tractable optimization.
